This page explains what we collect when you contact us, why we hold it, who it goes to and what you can ask us to do with it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
ORANA Business Administrative Services is a private consultancy that prepares and submits UAE visa, company formation and insurance applications on behalf of its clients. We operate from an office in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates and an office in Rajagiriya, Sri Lanka.
We are the controller of the personal information described on this page. For anything to do with your data, write to info@oranabusiness.com.
What we collect
We collect two different things, and it is worth separating them, because most people only ever give us the first.
- Your name
- Your phone or WhatsApp number, and your email address
- Where you are based
- The service you are asking about
- Whatever you choose to tell us about your situation
We do not run analytics, advertising trackers or third-party scripts on this website, and it sets no cookies of its own. There is no profile of your visit, because nothing here is collecting one.
Documents, once a case starts
An application to a UAE authority cannot be made without the documents that authority requires. Depending on the service, those may include a passport copy, an Emirates ID, photographs, educational, marriage or birth certificates, police clearance, company documents, or evidence of income or investment.
We ask for a document when the application needs it, and not before. If you are not sure why something has been requested, ask, and we will tell you which step it is for.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, check whether you are eligible before you spend anything, prepare and submit your application, keep you informed while it is running, and contact you about renewals and expiry dates on cases we have handled.
We hold it because you asked us to act for you, and in places because a UAE authority obliges us to. We do not use your details to build marketing lists, and we do not send you campaigns you did not ask for.
Who it goes to
Only the people who have to see it for your case to move.
- The UAE government or free zone authority your application is submitted to
- An insurer, where you have asked us to arrange or compare cover
- Typing centres, attestation and translation services, where a step in your case requires one
- Our own consultants in the UAE and Sri Lanka who are working on your file
Your details are never sold, rented or traded, and are never shared with anyone for their own marketing. That promise appears under every form on this site, and this is the page that has to mean it.
WhatsApp enquiries
WhatsApp is the way most of our clients prefer to reach us, and every WhatsApp button on this site opens a chat with a message already written into it. Nothing is sent until you press send, and the message is only visible to us once you do.
A WhatsApp conversation sits on Meta's infrastructure and is covered by WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy as well as this one. If you would rather not send identity documents over it, say so and we will move that part of the exchange to email.
Where your information is held
Between our two offices. A case that starts in Sri Lanka is usually completed in the UAE, so your file and its documents may move between the two countries and be worked on by staff in either.
By sending us your details you are asking us to act on them in both places. If you would prefer your case to be handled from one office only, tell us and we will say whether that is possible for the service you need.
How long we keep it
For as long as your case is live, and afterwards for as long as UAE law requires records of that case to be kept, or for as long as we may need it to answer a question about work we did for you.
Enquiries that never turn into a case are kept only while there is a realistic prospect of the conversation continuing, then deleted. If you would like your details removed sooner, ask.
What you can ask us to do
Under the UAE's Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, and equivalent rights elsewhere, you can ask us to do all of the following.
- Tell you what we hold about you, and give you a copy
- Correct anything that is wrong
- Delete what we are not obliged to keep
- Stop using it for a particular purpose
- Withdraw a consent you previously gave
- Object to how we are handling it, and complain to the relevant authority
Write to info@oranabusiness.com and we will come back to you. We will not charge you for asking, and asking will not affect a case we are running for you.
How we look after it
Access to client files is limited to the consultants working on them. Documents are exchanged directly with you or with the authority the application goes to, and we return or delete copies we no longer need.
No organisation can promise that information sent over the internet is completely secure, and we are not going to be the first to claim it. What we can say is that we do not keep documents longer than the work requires, and we do not put them anywhere they do not need to be.
Information about other people
Family and employment applications involve people other than the applicant. If you send us your spouse's, children's or employees' details, you are confirming that you are entitled to share them with us for that purpose.
This website is not directed at children, and we only ever hold a child's details as part of a family application made by their sponsor.
Changes to this policy
If what we do with your information changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. Anything significant will be raised with clients whose cases are open at the time.
If anything here is unclear, or you want to know exactly what we hold on you, ask. A person reads it, and you will get a straight answer.
